Understanding Engineering: “Blueprint for Success" ~ Fall Kickoff 2008, Re-cap!

Thanks to all of you for making our Fall Kickoff event such a HUGE success!  We really enjoyed seeing those of you who made it -- what a turn out it was!  As a reminder, here is a recap of what was covered (or a synopsis for those who missed it!).

First, we updated you on all that is NEW at the C3N/ Tech Prep office:

  1. Tech Prep credit is now ABSLOUTELY FREE for students.  After discussions with our stakeholders, it was unanimously decided to drop our registration fee – effective immediately!  Please spread the word!

  4. Our website contains more resources for you than ever before!  All of our program materials that we gave out at the event plus much more!  Here are some of the resources now available:
  5. Your comments, suggestions and feedback on new resources to post are greatly appreciated.
  6. Please recycle ALL OLD materials, especially those that mention a registration fee.  We are happy to provide new materials whenever possible – just ask!

Next, Mary Buckner, Career Specialist from Inglemoor High School shared her tips for Tech Prep Success:

  1. According to results from our recent data collection project, Inglemoor High School (and Northshore School District) do a stellar job of transitioning Tech Prep students into the four community and technical colleges in our consortium!  Mary detailed how Northshore excels at providing a strong and integrated message of support for the Tech Prep program. Mary’s PowerPoint presentation is now available (handout is available here, Powerpoint is coming soon!).

Then came the main event:  Engineering 101

Finally:  NEVAC with Pam Darling

  1. Our event ended with Pam Darling of NEVAC sharing the NEVAC’s recent changes and fielding question about the new Skills Center’s.  Our shared winter kick off event will be January 21st.

Once again we would like to thank all of you who joined us! Also, a BIG thank you to Herman and Lake Washington Technical College for hosting this wonderful event, it was truly a great time!  If you have any questions, need assistance or would like to order marketing materials, please contact us
