Scholarship Opportunities
College is for everyone…but it certainly can be costly. There are numerous scholarship and funding options available for every student, no matter what your educational goals may be. There are often strict deadlines –Don’t delay – check out the links below for more information!
Washington State
Washington State Tech Prep Association
Our state Tech Prep Directors sponsor a silent auction every spring to raise funds so that they can offer tech prep students scholarships. The applications for the 2010-2011 scholarship are now available. Details outlining student qualifications are below:
- A high school senior, graduating in spring 2010.
- Currently attending a Washington State Tech Prep high school.
- By graduation, will have earned at least 1.0 high school credit in Tech Prep classes. Students may be currently enrolled in a Tech Prep class that will meet this requirement.
- Earned 'B' or higher final grades in Tech Prep high school classes. Teacher will provide grade verification if student is currently attending a Tech Prep class.
- Student is planning to pursue a college certificate or degree in a program aligned with their Tech Prep high school program of study.
- Is entering a Washington State community or technical college in Fall 2010.
- Scholarships are DUE to our office by Friday, April 9th.

2010 WAVE Scholarship Award - was due February 5th, 2010
The Washington Award for Vocational Excellence (WAVE) scholarship application period is now open and career and technical education students from around the state are encouraged to apply. This annual award administered by the Workforce Board pays up to two years tuition based on state university tuition rates. Two high school students and one community college student from each of the state's 49 legislative districts are eligible to win the award, for a total of 147 potential winners. TheWashBoard.org is live. Check it out!
TheWashBoard.org is a free, web-based non-profit scholarship clearinghouse for Washington students seeking college scholarships.
More than 50 scholarship providers from across the state are registered. These providers have over $4 million in scholarship funds available and anticipate making over 1,700 awards for the 2010-2011 academic year. New scholarships are added each day.
